Lamning

The first event of the year at Gotland’s student union, Rindi. The event is aimed at new students at Uppsala University Campus Gotland and other higher education students on the island, offering a perfect opportunity to gain insight into what it’s like to be a student on Gotland, to live in Visby, and to meet new people. The event is comparable to a freshman week or initiation, but with a Gotlandic twist.

Tickets and schedule

The event will be held between 3rd and 12th of september, after all lectures.

Tickets will be released on the 20th of august at 12 PM on Orbi.

DAY 1

3 September – Welcome day

The “lambs” are welcomed with speeches from the generals and Rindi. The lambs will meet their assigned team and its shepherds. The shepherds are current students who help “their” lambs during the events.

DAY 2

4 September – Water day

Each team will compete in water games on the beach. It is recommended to wear your uniform—that is, your t-shirt—since one of these games involves colored water that may leave memories which cannot be “washed away.”

DAY 3

5 September – Melvin, pimp the flag

Each team will be given a watermelon filled with a secret liquid. The task is to drink and eat the contents, then use the rind to create something creative, which will then be presented on a catwalk in front of the organizers. Each team will also receive materials to decorate their team’s flag.

DAY 4

8 September – Heptathlon

Each team will compete once again, this time in a heptathlon on the beach. It is recommended to wear comfortable clothing to be able to fully “commit” to the games.

DAY 5

9 September – Section day

At Gotland’s student union, Rindi, there are several sections responsible for different programs at Campus Gotland. The day is dedicated to the sections’ fun activities, giving you the chance to spend time with your fellow students outside of lectures.

DAY 6

10 September – Kalkatraz

Each team will be given a list of challenges and will take part in a scavenger hunt around Visby, both to find objects and to complete other fun tasks. The teams’ efforts will be judged by the organizers at the end of the day.

DAY 7

11 September – Rest day

Relax and get ready for the finale.

DAY 8

12 September – Finale

Each team will compete in the event’s main highlight, capture the flag. The rest of the day will be devoted to mingling, with dancing and music. Rindi Fire Guild will also perform here!

EXTRA

19 September – Gasque

In connection with the event, there will also be a Gasque, a type of formal sitting or dinner.

Tickets for the Gasque are sold separately, and more information will be available on Instagram.
